Delicious, felt like nature made with good ingredients. The tsukemono was also delicious
The pork was amazing, would go again
Amazing ramen. The pork is best I’ve had in Japan.
Really don’t like the smell.
Being ranked 2nd on the Tripadvisor list of restaurants in Kagoshima naturally raises expectations of any ramen lover. But like any discerning ramen lover will tell you after their dining experience here, there's nothing really special about the ramen - be it the noodles or the broth. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience for me to be honest.
Absolutely delicious Ramen with Kurobuta Chashu! Melts in your mouth! Loved it!
The food here is great. Must try!
This is my favorite Ramen shop in all of Japan!! You have to eat it!! Gyoza is made with black pig and is amazing
One of our best ramen experiences in Kyushu, Tontoro's tonkotsu ramen serves no-nonsense, reasonably-priced great ramen. I didn't realize Tontoro was a popular chain of ramen restaurants in Kagoshima until later on, but I'm guessing their benchmark is set by this branch which is the original one? We arrived a little before lunchtime so it wasn't too crowded but after 12 the restaurant quickly filled. I ordered the char-siu bowl (large) and the soup was that good I finished off the whole bowl. There were 3 kinds of pork included, all tender and very filling.
Had heard a lot about this place so finally we visited on our last day of the trip. Ramen was good, though not the best. The meat in Ramen is super soft, something that I have not seen anywhere else. Gyoza was definitely one of the best I have ever eaten. The place although small has counter as well as floor seating options.
Excellent broth, noodles, and toppings. The pork is the softest I've ever had but that doesn't necessarily means it's a good thing-- I prefer something I can't chew on but the slices here Fall part once you start moving it in the mouth. The flavor is creamy, rich, and impressive but the complexity of the broth could improve a bit.
